Acqua di Parma Magnolia Nobile:
The notable beauty of a noble
flowery fragrance

By Cristiane Gonçalves

Acqua di Parma, traditional Italian perfume house founded in 1916 and known by its exclusive and elegant fragrances has released Acqua di Parma Magnolia Nobile following the same outstanding perfume making focused on a gentle way of exploring a flowery scent and its delicate facets as well as was made when the maison produced the cult and unforgettable Acqua di Parma Iris Nobile. Instead of iris flower, Acqua di Parma highlights now a white floral bouquet with a magnolia’s interpretation expressing a travel over its allurement, comfort and refinement qualities which bloom around an adorable sensorial garden filled by sweet roses and a subtle creamy flowery scent of tuberose with hints of woods and vanilla.

A composition by perfumer Antoine Maisondieu, the fragrance opens top notes of bergamot, lemon, citron, middle notes of magnolia, rose, jasmine and tuberose and base notes of sandalwood, patchouli, vetiver and vanilla. Magnolia Nobile is created by pure essences and, in a coherent manner, is much aligned to the identity of Acqua di Parma which captures the noble scented features of each fragrance as composed in a handmade process evoking the elegance and luxury in a high level of excellence and honoring the craftsmanship of the impeccable Italian roots in perfumery.

At first sniff, what inspires me about Magnolia Nobile is the beautifulness in a fragrance which makes me think a woman can be fragrant as she was a real flower. Have you ever had this impression? The sensation that you can smell as lovely as a flower in bloom, completely fascinating and rich in nuances as an attractive flowery natural scent that captures the Spring’s state of mind, a refined sensual and delicate woman walking on a subtle windy, radiant and fresh flower garden and feeling herself as prime as a flower Queen.  In this Acqua di Parma, the flower Queen is Magnolia, the white flower of intense delight, impressive beauty and splendid longevity which supremely shines amicably with others beautiful flowers.

This is my first sensation when smelling the high quality burst of crisp notes, exquisitely heady green
scent with the delightful freshness of lemon and citron. At this moment, my imminent desire is to open
my arms and let Magnolia Nobile embrace me deeply refreshing my skin and being integrated whole
to my feminine spirit while I nuzzle my nose into its petals and explore the upcoming flowery nuances
that start to be developed. The fine citrusy quality is so invigorating which brings some sense of free
allurement as a flower which blossoms into an unique scent to fascinate and seduce sights and olfaction
on its beauty and its perfect harmony and connection to the nature and also human nature.

Pleasantly subtle, the sweetness of roses, the whiteness of magnolias and the buttery creaminess of
tuberose start to be combined in a velvety expression, very soft, feminine and sensual, harmoniously
joined more later with slight touches of sandalwood and vanilic undertones, complementing the attractive
and confort appeal of the fragrance. Happily, strong scents of patchouli and vetiver are not the key feature
of base, what makes sense taking into consideration the heavy olfactive strength they would include if used
as core base. Under this aspect, the sandalwood, as a common raw material, has this “gentleman aroma
style” and work as a symphony pairing affectionally with dainty floral scents.

Often, Magnolia Nobile from its heart to its drydown evokes creamy white florals meeting clean woods
arousing a sophisticated base which doesn’t compromise the power of flowery facets. The value of Magnolia Nobile as a gorgeous and well-done floral is given by this docile way of perfume making in Acqua di Parma fragrances which is able to separate a flower and exalt it. When designing flowers scents focused in one
flower as principal figure, in order to not becoming them with no exceptional scented quality and design,
the harmony in the perfumer’s work associated to the brand identity of Acqua di Parma and its high degree
in essences excellence imply that the overall flower aspects were carefully worked to emphasize the noble character of a flower as a genuine Royal element, superior in luxury, perfectly fit to wear each woman and
her high value in the Royalty of the fine femininity.
