Atelier: A workshop or studio, specifically of an artist, artisan, or designer. A place for the execution of handcrafts or to practice arts and leisure; a place where an artist creates his body of art. Cologne: The original eau de cologne was created three hundred years ago by an Italian perfumer established in Cologne, Germany. His fresh blend of citrus oils was inspired by the memory of his homeland. It offered a revolutionary alternative to the heavy scents of the times and inspired a new way to wear personal fragrance.
The company is founded by founded by Sylvie Ganter and Christophe Cervasel and the perfumers behind the creations are Ralf Schwieger, Cécile Krakower and Jérome Epinette.
Atelier Cologne: Perfume house crafting colognes of character. The master perfumers of Atelier Cologne blend unexpected and rare extracts with signature fresh citruses to create Colognes Absolues, concentrated formulas with distinctive and long-lasting sillage. The first collection depicts five moments, five characters: Orange Sanguine, Grand Néroli, Bois Blonds, Trèfle Pur and Oolang Infini. Each scent captures treasured emotions and powerful memories.
The new fragrances are:
Orange Sanguine, a zesty and energizing burst of crushed ripe fruit, plays off sweet blood orange juice against bitter orange peel and sensual notes of geranium. “It was the kind of moment you would want to revisit. Everyone was here, gathered on the terrace for breakfast, and the scent of fresh oranges was diffusing in the yellow heat. A symphony of their laughter and waves hitting the cliffs played in the air.”
Cologne Absolue concentrated at 15%
Top notes: blood orange, bitter orange
Heart notes: jasmine, geranium from South Africa
Base notes: amber woods, tonka beans, sandalwood

Grand Néroli, a romantic ingénue, wraps elegant orange blossom flower
around layers of clean herbal notes, warm musks and addictive brushstrokes of vanilla. “The windows were thrown open to let in the afternoon sun, along with a breeze of orange blossoms. She secured fresh flowers into her hair and her eyes sparkled with excitement and anticipation. She had been a whirl of precise motion in her final preparation and took pause to dream about the moment to come.”

Bois Blonds, a sophisticated yet mischievous elixir, entwines unique and
precious woods and incense with sensual orange flower and vetiver.
“They spoke in whispers, breathing at the pace of the wind. The sun streamed through the trees in long rays of gold. Suddenly, the sky became the muted colors of twilight, it felt like hours had passed in a moment or that time had stopped altogether.”

Trèfle Pur, a landscape of vitality, surrounds violet leaves in green woods,
freshly cut grass and dewy earth. “He had a good feeling about it. That’s the thing about luck, you feel it or you don’t. This moment, he felt it. He found the morning’s rain had left everything looking greener and a bit sharper, like he was seeing it all for the first time, and he headed off with a spring in his step.”

Oolang Infini, a full-bodied, mysterious concoction, captures blue tea and bergamot in the warmth of smoke and leather. “His breath fogged the window while he watched new snow fall upon the frozen lake. He came here to catch up on his writing and escape the city. At that moment, the fireplace crackled, ice settled in his glass and his thoughts made their way back to the ink.”

Olfactive Interpreter of Orange Sanguine Cologne Absolue
Ralf was born in Germany, where he studied chemistry and found a passion for fragrance which drove him to perfumery school in Grasse, the world capital for traditional perfume houses. He likes to think of perfumery as something almost primary, requiring a highly developed sense of aesthetics, yet always playful. For Ralf it is the dynamic triangle between art, science and industry.
Cécile Krakower – Master Perfumer,
Olfactive Interpreter of Grand Néroli Cologne Absolue
Born in Marseille to a half French-half Vietnamese family who celebrated
culture, talent and arts, Cécile found her own expression in the creation of
scents. Her palette combines the raw beauty of the everyday, the innocent
reflections of her children, and a dichotomy of light and shadow to create a
work with strong signature and an emotional footprint.
Jérome Epinette – Master Perfumer, Olfactive Interpreter of Bois Blonds,
Trèfle Pur and Oolang Infini Colognes Absolues
Jérome, a native of France, received his Masters in Biochemistry and
discovered his love of fragrances which brought him to the Grasse Institute of Perfumery.
Sylvie Ganter has been in the beauty industry since 1994. Born in 1972, Sylvie was raised in the South of France.
Sylvie holds an MBA from Ecole Supérieure de Commerce in Marseilles, France and a Bachelor of Science (honors) from Coventry University, UK.
She began her career with Hermès Parfums in 1994 where she served as Area Manager for the European Duty Free. She was promoted to Market Director for the Americas in 1997. She moved to New York in 1999 to become the company’s Vice President of the US Fragrance Division.
In 2002, Sylvie joined LVMH Fresh where she was the Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing. She created a cult status with celebrities and propelled Fresh from a bath and body care brand to a global lifestyle brand.
Sylvie was appointed President of Selective Beauty USA in 2006. She opened and managed the US subsidiary of Selective Beauty, the international creator, licensee and distributor of fragrances and cosmetics. In addition to signing some of the most sought-after names in the business, Selective Beauty landed the global licensing and distribution deal for industry darlings John Galliano and Zac Posen.
Christophe Cervasel has been in the beauty industry since 1995. Born in 1974, Christophe was raised in Toulouse in the South of France.
Christophe holds an MBA (honors) from the Ecole Supérieure de Commerce de Paris (ESCP).
He began his career with L’Oréal Paris in 1995. He served as Product Manager for Plénitude and Regional Manager of France’s Rhones-Alpes region from 1995 to 1996.
Christophe was appointed Marketing Director at Kenzo Perfumes Italy, a division of the LVMH luxury goods conglomerate, in 1997. Christophe was promoted to Export Manager for Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands and Switzerland in 1999 and launched Kenzo Flower.
In 2000, Christophe Cervasel created Selective Beauty, the international creator, manufacturer and distributor of prestigious brands under worldwide licenses. Selective Beauty took the industry by storm by partnering with some of the most sought-after names in the business, including Agent Provocateur, John Galliano and Zac Posen. The company had also quickly become a leader in the distribution of prestige brands with major partners including Burberry, Lanvin, Chopard, Bulgari, Lolita Lempicka, Ferragamo and Elizabeth Arden, to name a few.
Living in both Paris and New York, Sylvie and Christophe, share their passion for life, family and heritage and draw inspiration from singular moments. They launch their brand, Atelier Cologne, in 2010.
